Testimonials: I don't know where to start other than to say OCC and Dr. Ortiz are life changing. I have always been a larger woman ever since I was in middle school. Being 6 ft tall, and athletic it was easy to maintain my weight. After having my daughter at age 29 I was still fairly athletic and able to maintain my weight pretty well. At age 34 I had to have a hysterectomy that really affected my hormones and I was put into menopause early. I gained over 80 lbs over time after having that surgery. No matter what workout I tried, how many times I went to the gym, the various different diets I tried, nothing worked. I was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome and was placed on medications to try to assist with weight loss. Well that backfired and I gained instead of losing weight. I felt so uncomfortable in my own skin and felt as though I was at a loss of options. A good friend of mine was a patient at OCC and she shared her story and process with me so I started looking into my options. I am a nurse in the US and have very high standards when it comes to my medical care. I was so impressed with Dr. Ortiz and the facility as a whole. I reached out to many places in the states for help and not a single one of them contacted me for over 2 months, I was already booked with OCC by that time. Started my preop in Feb 2022, had surgery on my 45th birthday in Aug 2022. I am so happy I made this choice for myself. I look and feel so much better and to look at pictures of myself before it is a real eye opener to just exactly how much this surgery and the lifestyle change that goes with it really does affect you. I have more energy, I am down 4 pant sizes from 24 and I am down from a 2/3xl to a L/XL top. I am still a work in progress but I am loving my new self and I am going to keep on my journey until I hit my goal.
