By now, you may already be experiencing a general sense of hopelessness ...

We understand that obesity can be overwhelming in so many ways. It doesn’t just affect your health. It becomes a serious psychological, emotional and social problem as well.

If you’re ready to start enjoying life again and experiencing it to its fullest, then it’s time for you and your family to take a closer look at your medical options.

Most Common Weight Loss Surgery Options

Remember: every situation is different. Below, we list some of the most common and effective bariatric weight loss surgery options available, along with general information on what they involve. But keep in mind that not all of them may be right for you.

By speaking with experienced staff and leading surgeons, you will be able to identify the right path for you.

Gastric Band Weight Loss Surgery (Lap Band)

In this procedure, a special band (known as the LAP-BAND® or Realize® Band) is positioned around the upper part of the stomach. This essentially divides the stomach into a small pouch, which holds a smaller amount of food, and a larger lower stomach.

The tightness of the band influences how much food you can eat before getting full. So, it effectively works to make you feel "full" sooner and for longer periods of time.

This bariatric surgery helps to restrict the amount of food you can eat with a thin, vertical sleeve of stomach, while a portion of the stomach is removed. This limits your food intake as it makes you feel full more quickly.
